Stripes

In June, 2005 a litter of 5 adorable 5 wk old kittens were rescued from a feral colony and placed into foster care.  When they were tested for feline leukemia a few weeks later, all tested positive, and their chances of adoption became unlikely. Their foster mom kept the kittens and cared for them. Sadly, 3 kittens succumbed within their first 4 months, but the other two survived & thrived. They affectionately became known as “Spots” and “Stripes” due to their markings.

The two boys did well for a few years, but at age 4 1/2 Spots passed away. ‘Stripes’ continued to thrive and was a household favorite, a special boy—he was the last of his litter, the final survivor.

Sadly, in early Nov, 2010, at age 5 1/2 Stripes to passed away. vHe will be missed. Though they were born with feline leukemia, these cats had a full life. They lived well and were very loved.
